As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will work as part of an adept team that provides resolutions to technical issues across a wide scope of customers, with an extensive array of technical environments. 

How You’ll Make an Impact at Trivalent & Rehmann:

  • Designing and implementing functional network infrastructure (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Maintaining functional and secure networks
  • Monitoring network performance and integrity
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing networks
  • Configuring and installing software, routers and other network devices
  • Suggesting improvements to network performance, capacity and scalability
  • Creating, overseeing and testing security measures
  • Resolving issues that tiers of support have escalated
  • Maintaining complete technical documentation
  • Providing pre-sales consultation with accounting managers, including the review of existing client environments and recommendations for upgrades

Your Desired Skills and Experiences:

  • High school diploma or GED.  A degree from an accredited college / university preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in information system design, installation, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience as a Senior Network Engineer or Network Administrator
  • Knowledge of current IT concepts, issues, practices, methodologies and trends
  • Server experience is a bonus
  • Professional certifications, such as Cisco (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE); HP switch or other network infrastructure; Dell switch or other network infrastructure; Fortinet; WatchGuard; Barracuda; Ruckus
  • In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring and analysis tools (SolarWinds, NESSUS, other)
  • Ability to communicate well with others with varying levels of computer expertise
  • Ability to ask questions to elicit responses and engage others in discussions
  • Passion for coaching and training others
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience in a pre-sales role preferred

Travel in this role is limited and sporadic, mostly limited to a 50-mile radius of Grand Rapids.  There may be an occasional need for overnight, onsite work in other Michigan geographies.
