We are seeking a talented professional to share their experiences and skills with our client.  In this role, you will supervise a team responsible for maximizing first and third-party collections while ensuring the integrity of the funds collected and in a manner which maintains the dignity of the consumers being served. 

Initially, you will be required to spend 1-3 days per week at the client site in Iosco County.  After this initial training period, the responsibilities may be completed at the client site or remotely from one of our office locations.

How You’ll Make an Impact with our Client:

  • Ensuring timely billing, posting and reconciling functions for all agency locations
  • Overseeing all aspects of the reimbursement process to ensure smoothness and timeliness of the function
  • Ensuring that all billings are supported with appropriate documentation and all entries have a clear audit trail
  • Maintaining compliance with pertinent standards and guidelines
  • Reviewing all billings, including Medicaid billings, for accuracy and compliance
  • Maintaining client receivable aging schedules to ensure that appropriate collection activities are carried out
  • Developing and maintaining expertise in the area of reimbursements
  • Serving as a consultant to staff in the areas of appropriate billing and documentation practices, regulations and standards
  • Supervising agency reimbursement clerks, including planning, assigning and directing work
  • Interviewing, hiring and training employees for the team
  • Assisting clinicians and related staff with appropriate service deletions and/or service edits
  • Maintaining Service Activity Reporting System (currently AVATAR) and ensuring uniformity and accuracy of reporting
  • Maintaining and updating unit cost for services on a consistent basis
  • Periodically reviewing fee schedules and making recommendations to leadership team
  • Supervising internal audit functions including prospective audits, pre-billing audits and consumer funds management

Your Desired Experiences and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration
  • Knowledge of mental health service coding requirements for all funding sources, including Medicaid
  • 5+ years of experience working in a reimbursement function
  • 5+ years of experience working with a Community Mental Health agency
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience supervising and motivating a team
  • Ability to create an environment based on teamwork and collaboration
