We are seeking a top-notch manager to lead the scheduling function for all Rehmann departments on a firm-wide, regional and office level.  This position may be based in Troy, Farmington Hills, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids or Lansing Michigan.

How You’ll Make an Impact at Rehmann:

  • Managing the firm-wide engagement schedule and associate utilization
  • Reviewing all firm jobs and resources. 
  • Supervising and coordinating a firm-wide schedule, based on direction from departmental leaders to meet or exceed the appropriate utilization levels
  • Working with each Regional Department Director to prepare a work schedule and monthly forecast to align the appropriate clients with staff skills and maintain appropriate utilization levels
  • Determining appropriate hiring goals and overall headcount to ensure appropriate utilization and adequate staff to provide quality service to clients
  • Facilitating and leading principal and manager meetings to promote collaboration and ensure messaging is rolled out clearly and effectively to teams
  • Working with all appropriate staff to teach and coach successful use of the scheduling tool and department integration
  • Reviewing firm utilization and working with each department to drive efficient cross utilization of associates
  • Recommending and managing scheduling tool upgrades and innovative development to meet the changing demands of firm-wide scheduling
  • Driving efficiency in the scheduling process and assisting departments with effective scheduling implementation
  • Resolving conflicts on schedule
  • Communicating regularly with all firm-wide leaders regarding unassigned employees
  • Managing leave requests and CPE requests based on business and scheduling needs
  • Generating reports using firm software
  • Identifying potential action items and communicating suggested operational improvements based on financial results
  • Participating in strategic planning process
  • Developing and implementing programs and policies as needed
  • Preparing utilization reports for the firm and offices as requested
  • Collaborating with HR to determine staff schedules are balanced, associate development needs and improve job satisfaction at all levels

Your Desired Skills, Experiences and Values:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with at least 3 years to include scheduling
  • CPA designation, a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major or concentration in accounting
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Work and Outlook
  • Knowledge of time & billing systems
  • Critical thinking and sound judgment in making decisions that impact the firm
  • High level professional image, maturity and self-confidence
  • Expertise in managing professional staff
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with firm leaders
  • Ability to effectively encourage management and associates to undertake actions that will improve the firm’s performance
