Job Description

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for day to day oversight of accounting with a desire for an individual who is strong in Cost Accounting. The position also includes hands on involvement in many facets of accounting and financial reporting including inventory. The role further supports operations and provides key financial analysis for all facets of the business and provides day to day leadership to accounting clerical staff

 Primary Functions and Duties

  • Lead responsibility for monthly general ledger and financial reporting, audits and business plans (monthly, quarterly, and FYE)

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, credit, collections and cost accounting/inventory

  • Prepare timely internal and external financial analyses and prepares Japanese consolidation documents

  • Responsible for J-Sox Internal Controls

  • Comply with local, state and federal government reporting requirements, tax filings, and records maintenance

  • Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems

  • Develop and maintain documented system of accounting policies and procedures

  • Maintain and lead company relationship with third party IT vendors for general IT functions and industry specific software, including coordination of training and support for computer software systems

  • Supplies reports to and communicates with CPA firm and bank contacts

  • Work on special projects assigned by the CFO

 Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration

  • CPA with knowledge of Japanese Financial Requirements/regulations

  • 3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Strong analytical abilities
